Xiangming Zha
Job Description
Xiangming Zha joined the School of Pharmacy in August 2021, as an associate professor in the Division of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He came to UMKC from Mobile, Alabama, where was an associate professor in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine.
Dr. Zha received his Ph.D. in biology at the University of Iowa. He earned an M.S. in neurobiology from the Shanghai Brain Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai, China; and a B.S. in biochemical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China.
We investigate brain acid signaling through acid-sensing ion channels and proton-sensitive GPCRs, and their role in neuron function, neuronal injury, ischemia, and cerebrovascular dysfunction.
