Job Description

Dr. Gilotra specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at University of Maryland and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. He pursued an additional year of advanced fellowship training in the management of complex shoulder and elbow injuries at the University of Pennsylvania and then obtained further training in elbow arthroscopy and minimally invasive approaches to the elbow at Tulane University in New Orleans.  

Dr. Gilotra’s research interests include novel treatments for rotator cuff repair, preventing implant-related infection, and reverse shoulder arthroplasty design. He has presented his research at many local, national, and international professional meetings and is the recipient of numerous honors and awards. He is a researcher for the randomized trial, “Benzoyl Peroxide Effectively Decreases Preoperative Propionibacterium Acnes Shoulder Burden,” which is the recipient of the Charles S. Neer Award.
